It was so great to see all of you who came out to the Mason Heritage Festival on August 23, 2008! It was awesome to see Main Street in downtown Mason filled with people!
The Heritage Festival is a great way for businesses to show their best and for people in the community to converge. The weather was very hot, but Agora's courageous and unstoppable volunteers had a chance to meet many in the community and raise awareness about our nonprofit organization. Thank you to all our volunteers, you are the soul of Agora!
This year instead of giving out free books we partnered with the Mason-Deerfield Rotary Club and ran a book drive for Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This community was flooded and their libraries where severely damaged. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED with book donations, on that day as well as for several weeks thereafter.
We also held a raffle. At stake were two fifty-dollar Kroger gift cards. Congratulations to Sandra and Marilyn for winning our raffle.
